    Description

A 1927 first edition copy of ""The Origin of the Black Man" by John W. Tindall. This is a theological response to the post-Civil War teaching that Black people did not have souls, did not descend from Adam and Eve, and were not created by God as equals to white people.
Using the Bible in response, the book directly addresses that viewpoint in one chapter, followed by chapters on The Black Man and Rape, The Black Man and Lynching, and so on. It is a sad and stark reminder of the environment Black people lived in -- fifty years after the Civil War.
About 5" x 7.5", 114 pages, hardcover. Good condition as shown. The cover is beginning to pull away from the pages. There is some handwriting. Pages are tanned and soiled but are not brittle. A good, solid, usable copy.
A sobering piece of history and solid addition to any library. I ship every day the post office is open with your item safely packed the way it deserves to be. I always combine shipping and will refund back any overage when you buy multiple items. Please see the
